Green & Yellow Split Peas, Salt, Monosodium Glutamate, Onion, Corn Starch, Sugar, Vegetable Shortening, Dextrose, Spices, Sodium Bicarbonate.

Open package, remove seasoning packet and empty remaining contents into a bowl. Rinse contents thoroughly. Bring 5 cups of water to a boil. Add the contents to the boiling water. Cover tightly and simmer over low heat for one hour or until render, stirring occasionally. Add contents of seasoning packet during last 10 minutes of cooking. Add 1-2 teaspoons of salt, if desired. Makes four 1 cup servings.
