To make Ortega tacos or tostadas, you will need: 1 pound ground beef, 1 package (1.25 ounces) Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix, 3/4 cup water, 1 package (12) Ortega Taco Shells or 1 package (10) Ortega Tostada Shells, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes, Ortega Thick & Smooth Taco Sauce or Ortega Thick & Chunky Salsa. Cook ground beef in medium skillet over medium-high heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until no longer pink; drain. Stir in taco seasoning mix and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low: cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 6 minutes or until mixture is thickened. For tacos: Fill warmed taco shells with 2 to 3 tablespoons meat filling. Top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and taco sauce. For Tostadas: Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons meat filling over warmed tostada shells. Top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and salsa.
